Michael McIlorum pens Wigan Warriors contract extension

Wigan Warriors hooker Michael McIlorum pens a contract extension with the club until 2019.

Wigan Warriors have confirmed that hooker Michael McIlorum has signed a new deal with the club until 2019.

The 27-year-old has made over 200 appearances for the Warriors since 2008.

"Having signed a new deal last year, I wasn't really expecting this but I am flattered that the club rate me so highly. I didn't hesitate to sign this new deal," the academy product told Wigan's official website.

"Having been at Wigan for 10 years, the place now feels like home. Like the rest of the team, I'm focused on finishing the season well and getting back to Old Trafford starting with a huge game this Friday against Leeds."

Wigan continue their Super League campaign this weekend when they face Leeds Rhinos at Headingley Carnegie.
