Wigan Warriors 38-6 Salford City Reds

Wigan Warriors consolidate their position atop the Stobart Super League with a comfortable victory over Salford City Reds.

Wigan Warriors have consolidated their place atop the Stobart Super League with a convincing victory at the DW Stadium this evening.

After a scoreless opening 12 minutes it was Wigan who broke the deadlock when Pat Richards went over before converting the goal himself.

Moments later the Warriors struck again when Sam Tomkins scored the second try before Richards completed a blistering nine minutes with a third score to send the home side in 14-0 ahead at the break.

They extended their advantage soon after the interval when Darrell Goulding went over, with Richards adding the extras.

The lead was advanced to 26 and then 32 when Jack Hughes and Harrison Hansen ploughed through the Reds' defence.

Sean O'Loughlin added a seventh try for the home side before Jordan James went over to get Salford on the board with two minutes remaining.
