Shaun Wane pleased with Wigan Warriors courage

Wigan Warriors coach Shaun Wane praises his players' "guts and courage" after Friday's 17-17 draw with Warrington Wolves in Super League.

Wigan Warriors coach Shaun Wane has praised his team's "guts and courage" after Friday's 17-17 draw with Warrington Wolves in Super League.

The home side had a 17-16 lead going into the final three minutes at the DW Stadium, but a Lee Briers drop goal made sure that the points were shared.

"It was a good effort from our players," Wane told Sky Sports News.

"I'm a little frustrated because I thought we could have done better but the courage and guts we showed in our defence was outstanding.

"We were nowhere near our best - we put ourselves under pressure with the penalty count - but overall I'm fairly pleased with that."

Friday's draw has moved the Warriors to the top of the Super League table.
