John Bateman relishing Wigan Warriors adventure

John Bateman says that he is looking forward to turning out for his new side, the Wigan Warriors.

John Bateman has said that he is looking forward to "a new chapter" in his career with the Wigan Warriors.

The 20-year-old second-row and lock signed a five-year deal with the Colliers after Bradford Bulls reached an agreement with Shaun Wane's side for an undisclosed fee.

"Wigan are the best team in Super League," the Telegraph & Argus quotes him as saying.

"I spoke to Shaun Wane and Kris Radlinski and they didn't have to say that much because the team do all the talking on the field.

"I'm a player who just wants to win stuff and be at the top of my game. Last season was a bit up and down for me due to injury but I'm fully fit again now and can't wait to get started."

The Warriors won the Challenge Cup and Grand Final this year.
