Warrington Wolves dismantle Wigan Warriors at Halliwell Jones Stadium

Tries from Richie Myler, Ryan Atkins, and Gareth O'Brien do the damage as Warrington Wolves defeat Wigan Warriors.

Warrington Wolves have torn a lacklustre Wigan Warriors apart at the Halliwell Jones Stadium in Thursday's Super League clash.

The visitors had a mountain to climb by half time, heading into the break at 13-0, but a late Dom Manfredi try added some respectability to the scoreline, which finished 17-6.

Richie Myler claimed the opening try for Warrington in the 12th minute and Gareth O'Brien followed up with a goal to add further damage.

O'Brien added a drop goal before Ryan Atkins went over for Warrington's second try in the 40th minute.

The stand-off notched a try himself early in the second half to put Warrington out of sight, but Wigan clawed ground back when Manfredi went over five minutes later and Matty Bowen followed up with a goal.

The defeat leaves Wigan in third place in the table, while Warrington lie in sixth.
