Warrington Wolves coach Tony Smith: 'Until last week our defence was our highlight'

Warrington Wolves coach Tony Smith admits that his team will have to improve after their first Super League defeat of the season to Catalans Dragons.

Warrington Wolves coach Tony Smith has said that his team will have to improve after their first Super League defeat of the season last week.

Wolves were beaten by Catalans Dragons, and former England coach Smith says that their previously formidable defence needs to quickly rediscover their form.

"We're going okay," said Smith at his press conference. "We've lost a couple of players to injuries early on, which isn't ideal, and we've had three tough games in Super League.

"Up until the week just gone our defence has been the highlight of our season. That dipped last weekend against Catalans and we'll have to improve against a team who will have their tails up following a good win against Wigan."

Wolves are fourth in the Super League, behind Leeds Rhinos and St. Helens, who both have 100% league records thus far, as well as the Dragons.
