Warrington Wolves prop Ben Evans sidelined for four months

Warrington Wolves prop Ben Evans has been ruled out for four months after undergoing surgery on a ruptured hamstring.

The 22-year-old suffered the problem during his side's 32-24 defeat to St Helens in Super League on March 19.

"It was a particularly nasty injury and he was in a considerable amount of discomfort at the time, but they got him off to hospital as soon as they possibly could and got him down to London the next day to see the specialist," Warrington assistant coach Richard Agar is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.

"He's had a fairly extensive operation to re-attach it but it's going to be a long injury. The first estimates are around four months, but all that will depend on the success of the operation and how he rehabs."

Warrington continue their Super League campaign on Friday when they entertain Huddersfield Giants.
