Warrington hammer Hull

Warrington Wolves continued their strong start to the Super League season with a commanding 24-10 victory over Hull FC.

The Wolves began the game well as they scored in their first possession, as Riley went over the line after some lovely cross-field passing creating space on the right.

Hull fought back and within minutes were level as Joe Westerman twisted and touched the ball down and Ben Crooks added the extra points.

Due to some solid defending the teams went into the break with the score at 6-4. After the break, however, it was all Warrington.

First, Joel Monaghan rose highest on the right to gather Stefan Ratchford's high looping kick and scored the try and Brett Hodgson added the conversion.

Minutes later, some great handling from the Wolves and slight bit of fortune allowed Riley to coast in for his second try. This time however, Hodgson missed the kick for the extras.

The visitors were smelling blood now as the home side began to struggle to make their tackles and this allowed Micky Higham and Monaghan to add further tries to make the score 24-6 to the Wolves.

Ben Crooks added a consolation try but it was too little too late for Hull.
