Result: Huddersfield Giants storm to victory over Warrington Wolves

Jermaine McGillvary crosses over four times to help Huddersfield Giants on their way to a 48-10 win against Warrington Wolves at the John Smith's Stadium.

Huddersfield Giants have kept themselves in Super League contention by easing to a 48-10 win over Warrington Wolves.

The home side cruised well ahead thanks to a dominant first-half showing, racking up 18 unanswered points to put themselves well on the way to victory.

Aaron Murphy was the first player to cross over after 10 minutes, before Jermaine McGillvary added two of his own heading into the break.

The wing rounded off his hat-trick of tries three minutes after the restart, with a well-taken finish in the corner to strengthen his side's hold on the game.

A quick pass allowed Joe Wardle to burst through just a few minutes later to make it 26-0, but there was some respite for Warrington as Ben Currie and Roy Asotasi powered their way over.

This was to be Huddersfield's day, though, and Murphy added a sixth and seventh try of the afternoon shortly after the hour mark to restore that hefty margin.

McGillvary was not finished there, however, crossing over the whitewash for his fourth of the match with 12 minutes left to play, before Jamie Ellis rounded things off.

Huddersfield find themselves in third place after the latest round of action, while Warrington - who ended their losing run last time out - are down in sixth.
