Wood sidelined for rest of season

Huddersfield Giants hooker Kyle Wood has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a serious knee injury.

The 25-year-old ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament on Sunday during his side's 38-16 win over Catalans Dragons in the Super League.

"It is sad for him and disappointing for the club but we will rally round him and he will be back," coach Paul Anderson is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.

Huddersfield continue their Super League campaign this weekend when they travel to Wakefield Trinity Wildcats.
