Castleford Tigers suspend Rangi Chase with full pay

Castleford suspend Chase

Castleford Tigers have confirmed that stand-off Rangi Chase has been suspended by the club with full pay pending an investigation.

The 26-year-old was notably absent from Castleford's side that were beaten 40-22 by Leeds Rhinos on Friday, despite being named in the orginial 19-man squad.

The club released a statement, which said: "Castleford Tigers can confirm that Rangi Chase has been suspended on full pay while the club investigates his actions last weekend.

"The club hope for the conclusion of this matter sooner rather than later and will not comment further on the situation at this stage so to not prejudice the case for either party."

Chase has been with the Tigers since 2009.
