Wolves mock Forest deleted tweet after win

Wolverhampton Wanderers' social media team have ruthlessly mocked a bizarre tweet from their Nottingham Forest counterparts after Saturday's Premier League fixture at Molineux.

Ahead of the match in the West Midlands, the two clubs occupied places in the relegation zone, the fixture billed as being potentially pivotal for each side.

On Saturday morning, Forest's social media team posted a photo of Emmanuel Dennis tickling three cubs accompanied by a backdrop of Molineux.

While the tweet was deleted later in the day, Wolves boss Steve Davis acknowledged to reporters after the game that it had not taken long for it to make an appearance in the Wolves' group chat.

Ruben Neves scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot as Wolves' recorded a 1-0 victory over Forest, moving four points clear of their opponents in the standings.

At the full-time whistle, Wolves did not need a second invitation to reply with a social media post which soon went viral and was widely applauded.

Forest head coach Steve Cooper was quizzed on the tweet in his post-match press conference, insisting that he had not been aware of what can only be perceived to be an error in judgement.

Despite the disappointment of his team suffering their seventh defeat in 10 top-flight fixtures, legendary England cricketer Stuart Broad was able to see the funny side of Wolves' riposte.

While Wolves now sit in 17th position in the table, Forest have dropped to bottom spot courtesy of Leicester City earning a goalless draw against Crystal Palace.
