Police search for snowball-throwing West Brom fan

West Midlands Police have begun a search to find the West Bromich Albion supporter who attempted to throw a snowball at an Aston Villa player.

The fan was caught on television cameras aiming a ball at Villa defender Joe Bennett during the Baggies' 2-2 draw at The Hawthorns on Saturday.

"We are making inquiries to identify the offender and deal with him appropriately," a spokeswoman for the police told the Daily Mail.

The incident came in the same week that the husband of Blackburn Rovers chairperson Anuradha Desai was hit with a snowball when arriving at Ewood Park.
