Valencia confirm death of supporter

Valencia release a statement confirming the loss of a supporter following Saturday's La Liga clash against Barcelona, which finished level.

Valencia have confirmed that one of their supporters died in the wake of their 1-1 draw with Barcelona on Saturday evening.

It is understood that the unnamed 43-year-old suffered a heart-attack after celebrating Santi Mina's leveller in the latter stages of the La Liga contest.

Los Che confirmed the loss in a statement, although the exact reason for death has not yet been officially disclosed.

"Valencia were sad to learn the irreparable loss of a fan after the match at Mestalla," read a statement on the club's official website. "The club extend their deepest condolences to the family of the deceased and share their grief."

It has been reported that the supporter passed away at around 11pm local time.
