White Hart Lane trio given three-year ban over pitch invasion stunt

Three men are banned from Spurs' stadium White Hart Lane until 2018 for staging separate pitch invasions at a Europa League game in November.

Three men who staged a pitch invasion at White Hart Lane last month have been slapped with three-year bans by Tottenham Hotspur.

The trio entered the field of play in separate incidents during Spurs' 1-0 Europa League win over Partizan Belgrade on November 27, causing the game to be temporarily stopped.

They spent their time taking selfies with unamused Tottenham players and evading stewards. It later emerged that the men ran a YouTube channel called Trollstation, which specialises in high-profile pranks.

Nathaniel Thompson, 23, Helder Gomes, 22, and Daniel Jarvis, 26 were also ordered to pay £155 each.

It had been reported that the incident was a marketing stunt, but prosecutor Laura McMullen told the court: "They denied that it was a publicity stunt or that it was done for advertisement, Mr Gomes denied getting paid for it."

The Lilywhites themselves were fined nearly £12,000 by UEFA over the incident.
