Tottenham Hotspur face further delay ahead of moving into new stadium

Tottenham Hotspur face new stadium delay

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly been hit with another delay to the construction of their new stadium, which they were supposed to move into last September.

Constructing the new stadium has already cost over double the original £400m budget and is six months behind schedule.

According to The Sun, developers have noticed that there is insufficient space surrounding the corner flags to allow players enough room to take a run-up.

"They've spent one billion pounds so far. It's magnificent in every way. It even has its own brewery and bars galore," a source told the newspaper.

"If only they'd given as much care and thought to the size of the actual pitch. It's not clear what they're going to do about it, if anything.

"Kieran Trippier and Christian Eriksen may just have to take corners standing still - or running up the slope."

Spurs are now scheduled to play in the new stadium for the first time in April.
