Rotherham boss Steve Evans promises to wear sombrero if fans demand it

Rotherham United boss Steve Evans promises to wear a sombrero to the team's final Championship game at Leeds if fans vote for him to do so.

Rotherham United manager Steve Evans has promised to wear a sombrero and flip-flops for the team's final Championship game of the season against Leeds United on Saturday.

The 52-year-old claimed prior to his side's game against Reading that he would wear unusual attire at Elland Road if Rotherham secured the win they needed to seal survival.

The Millers, who were docked three points earlier this month for fielding an ineligible player, did just that courtesy of a 2-1 win at the New York Stadium on Tuesday evening.

When asked by Sky Sports News if he will keep his promise, Evans said: "If you get enough tweets to the studio from fans around the country, demanding that they can have a laugh seeing me in shorts, T-shirt, sombrero, flip flops, I will be there with them on Saturday at Leeds, I promise you that.

"But it has to be a response from you guys that leaves me with no option. And don't forget sunglasses, I have got a very special pair of them as well!"

Sky Sports have created a #SombreroForSteve hashtag on Twitter in a bid to get the Rotherham coach to wear the attire.
