David Beckham finding time away from family "difficult"

David Beckham has admitted that he is struggling to be away from his family on a daily basis while playing for Paris Saint-Germain.

The former England captain, who signed for the Ligue 1 outfit on a five-month contract in January, is based in Paris, while his wife Victoria and four children reside in London.

"That's the sacrifice I have to make as a father and as a husband, being away from my family," the Daily Star quotes Beckham as saying.

"It's only for a short time but it is difficult being away from the children every single day. But they understand that Daddy works hard."

Meanwhile, the 37-year-old was criticised by the French press following his performance in last night's 2-2 draw with Barcelona in the Champions League.
