Manchester United's Wayne Rooney: 'I'd vote for Barack Obama'

Rooney backs Obama in election

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has revealed an interest in United States politics by claiming whom he would vote for in the presidential election.

The 26-year-old has opted for Barack Obama to lead the country for another term in office after watching all of the election debates between the 51-year-old and his Republican opponent Mitt Romney.

Rooney tweeted: "Watched all the presidential debates. If I had to vote would vote Obama."

Meanwhile, Rooney captained United last night for their 3-2 win over Braga in the Champions League.
