Phil Jones says that he brushes away jokes about his facial expressions by his Manchester United teammates.

Manchester United's Phil Jones has admitted that his teammates poke fun at the facial expressions he makes during matches.

The 21-year-old has been likened to Beaker from The Muppets following a photograph of the player trying to prevent Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero from scoring in City's 2-1 victory at Old Trafford last month.

"Yeah, I know what you mean," the Daily Mail quotes Jones as saying. "It doesn't bother me too much.

"The lads have had a few pops at me but I just brush it over my head. I don't care to be honest."

Jones signed for the Red Devils from Blackburn Rovers for a reported £18m in 2011.
