Ferdinand: 'We won't wear collars up'

Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has claimed that he and his teammates are not planning to continue Eric Cantona's trend of wearing the collars up on their new shirts.

The Frenchman made the look famous at the North West club during his time as a Red Devils player, but Ferdinand has claimed that nobody deserves to copy the ex-United captain.

"There's only one person who should be wearing their collars up: Eric Cantona," The Sun quotes Ferdinand as saying. "And he's retired."

Meanwhile, United will take on Chelsea and Liverpool in their opening three games of the Premier League 2013-14 season.
