Rio Ferdinand 'spends weekend with One Direction star Harry Styles'

Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand reportedly spent the majority of his weekend hanging out with One Direction singer Harry Styles.

The centre-back is thought to have watched the 19-year-old and his four bandmates perform in Manchester twice.

Following the show, the 34-year-old is believed to have kept his Italian restaurant Rosso open late in order to dine with the teen popstar, according to the Daily Mail.

Reports have claimed that Ferdinand gave Styles, who wore a United shirt during One Direction's Manchester concert, VIP tickets for the Red Devils' 1-0 win over Reading on Saturday.
