Report: Brendan Rodgers caught up in cricket bat incident

A report claims that Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers was threatened with a cricket bat during a recent visit to a friend's house.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers was reportedly threatened by a man with a cricket bat last Monday afternoon.

It is believed that Rodgers was caught up in the incident when he visited the home of a female friend in Southport at 3.15pm.

An unnamed male pulled up in his car and called for Rodgers to come out to meet him in the street, according to The Mirror.

When Rodgers refused, the report added that the man returned to his vehicle, took out a cricket bat and proceeded to smash up the front of the property before he drove away.

Police on Merseyside are now said to be investigating the episode.

Meanwhile, Rodgers's team are currently taking on Norwich City at Carrow Road. You can follow Sports Mole's live text updates of the clash here.
