England stars 'advised to skip Jos Buttler's stag do'

England's director of cricket Andrew Strauss advises top stars, including Joe Root, to avoid Jos Buttler's stag do in Amsterdam this weekend.

England's director of cricket Andrew Strauss has reportedly advised top players to avoid Jos Buttler's stag party in Amsterdam this weekend.

Ben Stokes and Alex Hales were both suspended by the ECB this week after the pair became involved in an altercation outside a nightclub in Bristol, an incident that led to Stokes being arrested at the scene.

According to The Times, in light of the events Strauss has told key England players that it would not be wise to attend Buttler's stag do in the Dutch capital, which is renowned for its party atmosphere.

The newspaper says that captain Joe Root and Stuart Broad have both withdrawn from the trip, as have Stokes and Hales.

Stokes is himself due to get married in a fortnight.
