England are considering a bid to be the host nation for the 2030 World Cup, chairman of the Football Association Greg Clarke has said in a statement.
England were in the running to host the 2018 World Cup but missed out to Russia, and have not actually hosted the famous competition since their triumph in 1966.
Clarke has revealed that the FA is considering whether it will put a bid forward to host the 2030 tournament.
"Last month the English FA board agreed to conduct feasibility work into the possibility of putting itself forward to be UEFA's potential candidate to host the 2030 World Cup," Clarke said in a statement.
"This work will take place during the new season and no decision will be made until 2019."
The 2022 World Cup will be controversially hosted by Qatar, while it was revealed earlier this summer that USA, Canada and Mexico would host the 2026 competition.
