Griffiths pleads guilty to offensive chanting

Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths has pleaded guilty to joining in with an offensive chant about former Hearts player Rudi Skacel.

The incident occurred outside of Roseburn Bar in Edinburgh prior to a derby game between Hearts and Hibernian on Sunday, March 30.

Police witnessed fans singing an offensive chant, which included the term "fucking refugee", to the tune of 'Yellow Submarine' while waiting for the bar to open at around 10am.

According to BBC News, at Edinburgh Sheriff Court, Griffiths admitted to joining in with the chant and his lawyer added that the player wanted to apologise unreservedly for his actions.

Griffiths has been admonished.
