The EFL announces the rearranged date for Cardiff City's trip to Derby County, which was controversially postponed last weekend.

The Championship fixture between Derby County and Cardiff City that was controversially postponed last weekend has been rearranged for next month.

The game was due to be played at Pride Park at midday on Sunday but was called off less than four hours before kickoff due to safety concerns following heavy snowfall overnight on Saturday.

Cardiff manager Neil Warnock was left furious with the postponement, insinuating that the Rams' extensive injury list had played some part in the game being called off.

The manager was also frustrated that the move may have compromised the club's momentum, which has seen them win their last seven games in a row and consolidate second place in the Championship table.

Warnock went on to express fears that the EFL would force them to replay the fixture on the first available free date - Tuesday, April 17 - which would have seen the Bluebirds play three away games in a row.

However, the EFL have today confirmed that the game will now be played on Tuesday, April 24 at 7.45pm, a few days before the penultimate matchday of the season.

The Welsh side return to action after the international break with a home tie against Burton Albion on March 30.
