Wayne Bridge to help girlfriend with mental health problems

Bridge vows to "support" girlfriend

Brighton & Hove Albion full-back Wayne Bridge has vowed to "support" his girlfriend Frankie Sandford through any mental health problems she may encounter in the future.

The Saturdays singer sought treatment from a clinic for her mental illness last year but has since recovered and attended the Mind Media Awards on Monday with Bridge, who is currently on loan at Brighton from Manchester City.

The 32-year-old player held up a board, which read: "I pledge to support Frankie (yes the one from The Saturdays) and others that I know. Wayne."

Bridge attended the London ceremony with his girlfriend, who presented the Speaking Out award to Vasoulla Savvidou.
