Former Bayern Munich manager Dettmar Cramer has died at the age of 90.

Cramer, who passed away on Thursday at his home in Reit am Winkl, led Bayern to back-to-back European Cup triumphs in 1975 and 1976 with a team that included the likes of Franz Beckenbauer and Gerd Muller.

Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge told the club website: "For me, he was a fatherly friend. He was the person who supported me the most during my early career.

"The fact that I was able to have such a successful career is in a large way down to him.

"Bayern Munich are mourning a great coach and a special person."

Cramer also worked for Eintracht Frankfurt, Bayer Leverkusen and Hertha Berlin at club level, and Japan, Germany and the United States on the international stage.
