Piers Morgan offers to pay Theo Walcott fine

Piers Morgan offers to pay the fine for Theo Walcott if the Arsenal winger is reprimanded for his gesture in the 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur yesterday.

Piers Morgan has offered to pay Theo Walcott's fine if the winger is punished by the Football Association for his gesture during Arsenal's 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur.

The North London outfits renewed hostilities for a third-round FA Cup clash at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, which Arsene Wenger's men edged courtesy of strikes from Santi Cazorla and Tomas Rosicky in either half.

Toward the end of the contest Walcott appeared to signal the scoreline with his hands to nearby Spurs fans as he was stretchered off the field, prompting a furious reaction from the away supporters.

However, should the 24-year-old be reprimanded for his actions, Morgan - an Arsenal fan - has offered to foot the cost of the fine for the England international.

The television host and journalist took to Twitter to express his satisfaction over the incident.

He wrote: "Don't worry if you get fined for this, Theo....I'll pay it. #Afc #Legend".

It is not yet known whether or not the FA will launch an investigation into the matter.
