Automne Pavia wins second judo bronze

Automne Pavia has claimed the second bronze medal in the women's 57kg judo at the expense of Hedvig Karakas this afternoon.

The French competitor failed to reach the semi-finals thanks to a defeat in the final eight by Japan's Kaori Matsumoto.

As a result, she was paired against Hungary's Karakas, whom she managed to edge out 1-0 during the five-minute bout.

Pavia, who was ranked fourth heading into the event, has won France's first judo medal of the Games.
