Brazilian judoka Felipe Kitadai has been given a new bronze medal after dropping the original in a shower.
The 60kg competitor revealed that he took the medal into the shower as a joke but that it was dented after the string attached to it snapped.
Kitadai told Globoesporte: "I took it with me everywhere.
"I even took it into the shower, but I was afraid to get it wet so put it in my mouth while I soaped myself. But it ended up slipping."
The International Olympic Committee have since replaced the broken medal that Kitadai won on Saturday in London.
