Nile Wilson claims another gold

Team England gymnast Nile Wilson collects his fifth medal of the Commonwealth Games with victory in the men's horizontal bars event.

Nile Wilson has collected his fifth medal - and his third gold - of the Commonwealth Games with victory in the men's horizontal bar event.

The 22-year-old delivered a sublime performance in front of a packed Coomera Indoor Sports Centre and was duly rewarded with a score of 14.533 from the judges.

No other competitor could really provide a challenge for Wilson, who had previously won golds in the individual all-round and men's team, as well as silvers on the rings and parallel bars, on the Gold Coast.

Wilson's teammate James Hall was in second place on the podium after he scored 14.000 for his routine, while Canadian Cory Paterson took bronze after recording the same score as Hall but with a lower execution element.

Elsewhere, Scotland's 19-year-old gymnast Hamish Carter got a rapturous applause from the home crowd after he persevered following two falls to finish his routine.
