Gymnast Wilson the 'happiest teenager alive'

England gymnast Nile Wilson has revealed that he is one of the happiest teenagers in the world after the 18-year-old claimed his fourth medal of the Commonwealth Games today.

The youngster scooped gold in the horizontal bars event to cap a memorable day at the Hydro having earlier claimed silver in the parallel bars.

Wilson, who has also won bronze in the all-around contest and helped England win the team event, says that he is dumbfounded at the level of success that he has achieved in Glasgow.

"It felt amazing and I wouldn't even have dreamt of coming home with this amount of medals," he told BBC Sport.

"I am one of the happiest 18-year-olds alive. The high bar was good and to finish with a gold was the icing on the cake.

"This whole experience has been unreal and the whole multi-sport Village has been amazing. Now I am ready to go out and celebrate."

The two-time Commonwealth champion pipped compatriot Kristian Thomas to the gold, while Canada's Kevin Lytwyn took bronze.
