Watson keen on Ryder Cup job

Tom Watson has revealed that he is keen to captain the American Ryder Cup team at Gleneagles in 2014.

The 63-year-old has captained the team before, winning the trophy in 1993, and would relish the chance to lead the USA once again.

"It would be cool to be Ryder Cup captain again," said the eight-time major winner.

"It would be a great honour if I got tapped on the shoulder. I know that '93 was the last time I've been to a Ryder Cup. I would like to go back as captain."

Watson denied that he has been offered the chance to succeed Davis Love III, who was captain as Europe staged a dramatic final-day comeback in September.
