Montgomerie to captain Europe again?

Colin Montgomerie is reportedly confident that he will be chosen to captain Europe at next year's Ryder Cup at Gleneagles.

Having skippered the European team to success in 2010 at Celtic Manor, the 49-year-old went on the record to say that he believed the role to be a one-time adventure.

However, the Scot has had a change of heart and has decided that he would like a second stint in charge, according to Sky Sports News.

The report has also claimed that Montgomerie's main competitor for the job will be Irishman Paul McGinley.

It is believed that Europe's top players will vote on who will captain them during a meeting in Abu Dhabi tomorrow evening.
