McGinley expects tight Ryder Cup

Europe's Ryder Cup captain Paul McGinley believes that the 2014 edition of the tournament will be one of the closest in recent memory.

McGinley will be up against Tom Watson, who has been handed the American captaincy for a second time following his success at The Belfry back in 1993.

Discussing the encounter, McGinley admitted that Watson will bring the best out in his players.

"The line is very slight between the two teams. I'm very much aware of that and I'm also aware that Tom Watson will certainly up the ante on their side," he told Sky Sports News.

"I'm looking forward to the prospect of being involved with Tom Watson and leading a European team that I'm sure will be very strong as well."

The match will be played at Gleneagles in Scotland.
