Graeme McDowell and Rory McIlroy will start the 2012 Ryder Cup against Jim Furyk and Brandt Snedeker in the foursomes.
The opening matches of the tournament were announced during Thursday's opening ceremony at the Medinah Country Club in Illinois.
Phil Mickelson and Keegan Bradley will play Luke Donald and Sergio Garcia in the second encounter before Lee Westwood and Francesco Molinari take on Jason Dufner and Zach Johnson.
Tiger Woods has been paired with Steve Stricker and will face off against Ian Poulter and Justin Rose.
Play at the 39th Ryder Cup is scheduled to start at 1.20pm on Friday.
