Bubba Watson: 'I had fun'

Bubba: 'I had fun'

Victorious US Ryder Cup player Bubba Watson has said that his goal in this afternoon's fourballs was just to "have fun".

The big-hitting Floridian and partner Webb Simpson dismantled the European duo of Peter Hanson and Paul Lawrie in the opening fourball match earlier today.

Speaking to Sky Sports News afterwards, Watson said: "The goal is just to keep having fun."

The 33-year-old also said that he deliberately encouraged the crowd to cheer as he took his opening tee shot.

"I told the European team if I'm going to play bad I'm going to at least have fun on the first tee shot," he added.

Watson and Simpson's point saw America take a 3-2 lead in the overall standings.
