Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel goes fastest in the Spanish Grand Prix second practice session, just ahead of Fernando Alonso.

Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel has set the fastest time in the second practice session for the Spanish Grand Prix.

Vettel's 1:22.808 pushed first practice winner Fernando Alonso of Ferrari into second, with the Spaniard managing 1:22.825 on his home circuit.

The German's teammate Mark Webber was the only other man to go inside 1:23 with his 1:22.891.

Lewis Hamilton in his Mercedes was the fastest Briton, finishing sixth with a time of 1:23.140, with all five pursuing drivers within four tenths of the leader Vettel.

It was another tough session for the McLarens, with Jenson Button and Sergio Perez 12th and 13th respectively.
