Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel: 'Competitors tried to play dirty tricks to beat us'

Vettel: 'Dirty tricks didn't distract us'

Triple-world champion Sebastian Vettel has revealed that Red Bull had to overcome "dirty tricks" during the season.

The team won their third consecutive title while Vettel became the youngest ever racer to clinch the drivers' championship for a third time after overcoming Ferrari's Fernando Alonso by three points at the Brazilian Grand Prix.

"A lot of people tried to play dirty tricks but we did not get distracted by that and kept going our way and all the guys gave a big push right to the end," said Vettel.

"We remained ourselves throughout the whole year, even though people did some things that we would never consider to do, trying to achieve our targets."

Meanwhile, McLaren's Jenson Button snatched victory in the final race of the season yesterday.
