Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel will start on pole position for the Japanese Grand Prix.

Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel has dominated Saturday's qualifying session to earn himself pole position for the Japanese Grand Prix.

Vettel surged to pole position ahead of his Red Bull teammate Mark Webber, who will join Vettel on the front row of the grid.

McLaren's Jenson Button was third quickest but after incurring a five-place grid penalty for a gearbox change, he will start in eighth place.

Sauber's Kamui Kobayashi will start in third place, with championship leader Fernando Alonso in sixth and Lewis Hamilton in ninth.
