Daniel Ricciardo "a bit in shock" after win

Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo admits that he is "a bit in shock" following his first race win in Formula 1 at the Canadian Grand Prix.

Daniel Ricciardo has admitted that he is "a bit in shock" after securing his first win in Formula 1 at the Canadian Grand Prix.

The Red Bull driver overtook Mercedes' Nico Rosberg in the closing stages of the race in Montreal, while teammate Sebastian Vettel completed the top three.

During his post-race interview on the podium, the Australian said: "I'm still a bit in shock, this is ridiculous. There are lots of Australian flags, which is nice. The race really came to life for the last 15-20 laps.

"I really struggled to get past [Sergio] Perez but managed to do that and set my sights on Nico with couple of laps to go. I finally managed to get in the right spot to use DRS and it's an amazing feeling right now."

The result leaves Ricciardo third in the drivers' standings, 61 points behind Rosberg, who leads the championship.
