Sir Jackie Stewart: 'Death of father won't affect Jenson Button's driving'

Sir Jackie Stewart believes that Jenson Button will not let the death of his father affect his driving next season.

Sir Jackie Stewart has claimed that Jenson Button's driving will not be affected by the loss of his father.

Three-time world champion Stewart believes that Button will be able to fully focus on driving when he returns to action for McLaren following the news of John Button's death last weekend due to a suspected heart attack.

"His son will miss him terribly but a racing driver's mentality is a peculiar one," Stewart told reporters.

"I think the human is an amazing animal and I think racing drivers probably are tougher than most people."

Button's father has been a regular at most races throughout his son's career.
