David Coulthard: 'Fernando Alonso crash doesn't add up'

Coulthard: Alonso crash "doesn't add up"

Former Formula 1 driver David Coulthard has said that Fernando Alonso's pre-season testing crash "does not add up".

This follows comments by McLaren team principal Ron Dennis denying that Alonso suffered from concussion.

"I think there is more to this than we are being told about at this time," Coulthard told BBC Sport.

"There is conflicting information coming out, saying there are zero signs of any injury but then three days of hospital for concussion.

"It does not add up. He does not need three days of privacy, he can go to his own private residence and have that."

Alonso will miss the season-opening race in Australia on March 15.
