Jenson Button relishing chance to lead McLaren

McLaren driver Jenson Button says that he's "looking forward" to leading the team in next season's Formula 1 campaign following the exit of Lewis Hamilton.

Jenson Button has insisted that he is prepared to lead McLaren in next season's Formula 1 campaign.

The 32-year-old takes the reins at the British-based team following the departure of Lewis Hamilton to Mercedes.

"It's not the first time I've done that," BBC Sport quotes Button as saying. "When I got to BAR and Jacques [Villeneuve] left it was exactly the same situation.

"I was there to lead the team and it's something I really look forward to and it's something where the best comes out of me in that situation."

Button has been racing for McLaren since 2010.
