Brundle: 'Hamilton exit good for Button'

Martin Brundle has hinted that Lewis Hamilton's exit from McLaren will be beneficial for Jenson Button.

Hamilton joined Mercedes at the end of the 2012 season and Brundle believes that this will allow Button to be the main man at McLaren.

"Lewis heading off means it's Jenson's team, he can concentrate on leading that team, and I think Jenson will grow into that position," Brundle told reporters at the Autosport International Motorshow.

"The fastest driver in the world has left the team and [Jenson] doesn't have to worry about his data any more – even if it went on Twitter occasionally!"

Button will be partnered by former Sauber driver Sergio Perez for the 2013 season.
