Eric Boullier: 'Honda could poach from rivals'

Eric Boullier urges Honda to poach talent from rival Formula 1 teams to boost McLaren's chances of success.

McLaren racing director Eric Boullier has suggested that Honda could improve their engine performance by poaching talent from rival teams.

The Woking-based constructor has suffered from a lack of pace and reliability since teaming up with the Japanese manufacturer.

Although McLaren finished last weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix with both their drivers in the points, Boullier has hinted that Honda could be missing a trick by not recruiting engineers from other Formula 1 outfits.

He told F1i: "Honda could have bought some experience from other engine manufacturers and maybe should actually.

"We would recommend it just because to make sure you go faster and you accelerate your development program because they have solutions ready to fix things, or maybe some understanding."

McLaren have scored just 17 points so far this season.
