Honda: 'McLaren driver lineup undecided for 2015'

Honda's motorsport boss Yasuhisa Arai insists that he will not discuss signing new drivers when he meets McLaren supremo Ron Dennis this weekend.

Honda has revealed that the identities of McLaren's drivers for 2015 remain undecided, and the Japanese engine maker says it will not discuss the subject when both parties meet at Suzuka this weekend.

Since the manufacturer announced its return to Formula 1 from next season, several drivers have been linked with a move to the team including two-time world champion Fernando Alonso.

However, despite feverish speculation, Honda's head of motorsport Yasuhisa Arai has insisted that McLaren's driver lineup will not be on the agenda when he meets Ron Dennis during the Japanese Grand Prix weekend.

He told Sky Sports News: "We are constantly talking about which drivers we would like to see.

"Whilst McLaren is here in Japan it is only natural that we organise some meetings with McLaren. But I don't think we will be discussing the topic of drivers, given that nothing is decided."

McLaren previous partnership with Honda saw two of Formula 1's greatest drivers, Alain Prost and Ayrton Senna, win six world titles between them during their time at the Woking-based team.
