Maldonado penalised for Hamilton collision

Pastor Maldonado has been hit with a 20-second penalty following his collision with Lewis Hamilton during the European Grand Prix.

Both drivers were unable to finish the race following the incident, with the Venezuelan accusing his counterpart of "aggressive" driving.

However, the race stewards have now sided in favour of the McLaren driver, stating that Maldonado failed to rejoin the race track in a safe manner.

The decision to punish Maldonado by 20 seconds sees him relinquish a points position to his Williams teammate Bruno Senna.

Fernando Alonso went on to win the race in Valencia.
